ACE secures $120,000 to fuel ASEAN energy cooperation

This will support the rollout of a regional plan.

The ASEAN Centre for Energy (ACE) has secured around US$120,000 (NZ$ 200,000) from New Zealand to advance the region’s energy transition.

In a statement, ACE said the contribution from the New Zealand Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade will support the implementation of the ASEAN Plan of Action for Energy Cooperation (APAEC).

The action plan serves as the region’s blueprint for energy cooperation. It sets strategies and action plans for enhancing energy connectivity and market integration in ASEAN to achieve energy security, accessibility, affordability, and sustainability for all.

The grant from New Zealand will support the activities and initiatives of three of the seven Programme Areas in the blueprint, namely the ASEAN Power Grid, renewable energy, regional energy and policy planning.
