India issues nearly 3.5 GW of RE tenders in April

Meanwhile, almost 800 MW of capacity were allocated to developers.

India has issued about 3,455 megawatts (MW) of renewable energy tenders in April 2025 under the project development category.

According to the latest data from JMK Research & Analytics, UPPCL issued 2,000 MW alone, which was a standalone pumped hydro storage tender.

Another major tender was from JVVNL, which was a 1,200.7 MW solar project.

In March 2025, a total of about 754 MW of renewable energy was allocated to various RE developers. This includes GUVNL auctioning a wind capacity of 250 MW that was allotted to four winners.

It also auctioned a 500 MW/1000 megawatt-hour standalone battery energy storage system allocated to two winners.
