L&T establishes unit for renewable EPC

Senior VP A. Ravindran has also been appointed as the head of the renewable business.

Larsen & Toubro (L&T) has carved out a standalone renewable engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) business out of its power transmission and distribution division. This new unit will operate under the company's infrastructure projects segment.

In a statement, the company said the new vertical will streamline resource allocation and ensure seamless integration within the company. L&T senior vice president A. Ravindran has been appointed to lead this as the head of Renewable Business.

S.N.Subrahmanyan, L&T chairman and managing director, said the renewable energy EPC market has grown rapidly. Establishing this new vertical will enhance the company’s ability to serve customers effectively and excel in the market, he added.

L&T has a portfolio of renewable energy EPC projects totaling 22 gigawatt-peak. This includes ground-mounted solar, floating solar, and wind balance of plant projects. Additionally, L&T has implemented battery energy storage systems totaling 3 gigawatt-hours.
