Electricity arm of Puducherry, India, opens interest experession for 30MW solar

Any bid below 10MW will not be considered.

The electricity department of the Union Territory of Puducherry has invited an Expression of Interest (EoI) for 30 MW of solar. The bid-submission deadline is April 28, 2017, according to Mercom Capital Group.

The Government of Puducherry proposes to buy 30 MW of solar at a tariff determined by the Joint Electricity Regulatory Commission (JERC).

The power purchase agreement will be signed by the Electricity Department of Puducherry, which has mandated that bidders who have prior experience commissioning solar projects of minimum 5 MW capacity can participate in the EoI. It has also been stated that any bid below 10 MW will not be considered.

"Bidders can choose to construct the project elsewhere and supply power to Puducherry, but preference will be given to bidders who plan to construct the project within the boundaries of Puducherry," Mercom Capital Group said.
