JERA establishes energy supply measures for heavy winter season
The plans involve to secure kW and KWh for a stable energy supply.
JERA Co., Inc. (JERA) has implemented stringent measures on the supply-demand framework to address the current winter season, lasting from December 2023 to March 2024.
In a statement, the company said the procedure involves securing kilowatts (kW) from the power supply capacity and inspection of energy facilities, and kilowatts per hour (kWh) through secure fuel supply.

As a measure to avoid any supply-demand crunch over the winter season, JERA has initiated its plans on the inspection of existing power stations, construction of new thermal power facilities, updating of internal systems, and procuring a stable fuel supply.
Under the measures include the commercial operations of six thermal power units (4.32 million kW), the shutdown of the obsolete Hirono Thermal Power Station Unit 2, and the approval of the supplication of liquefied natural gas by the ministry
