74.8 MW biomass plant starts operations in Japan

It can supply power to around 150,000 households.

A 74.8-megawatt Tokushima Tsuda Biomass Power Plant has started operations, with an annual power transmission volume of around 500 million kilowatt hours.

In a statement, Renova said the transmission volume can meet the needs of around 150,000 households.

The power plant fueled using wood pellets and palm kernel shells is located in the Port of Tokushima-Komatsushima which is the largest lumber industrial park in the country.

The facility was jointly funded by Renova, Osaka Gas Co., Ltd. Forestbank Co. Ltd., DAIRI FPC Co. Ltd., and Tokushima Denki Sangyo Co., Ltd.
