ACEN’s Stubbo Solar project reaches full commercial operations
The project is backed by a Long-Term Energy Service Agreement.
ACEN Australia has announced that its 400 megawatt (MW) Stubbo Solar project has reached full commercial operation.
In a statement, ACEN said this makes the project the first solar generator backed by a Long-Term Energy Service Agreement (LTESA) to reach this development.
The project has also become the first large-scale solar project certified for full circularity under the Circular PV Alliance framework, which will see all 930,000 of the project’s panels reused or recycled at the end of life.
Stubbo Solar is located about 10 kilometres north of Gulgong in central-west New South Wales, and has the capacity to produce enough clean energy to power 185,000 Australian households.
PCL Construction served as ACEN Australia’s engineering, procurement and construction contractor, whilst Lumea, the commercial arm of Transgrid specialising in renewable energy grid connections and infrastructure services, partnered with ACEN Australia to deliver a safe and efficient connection to the New South Wales electricity network.
The project also has a provision for a future 200 MW / 800 megawatt-hour battery energy storage system.
