AMPIN Energy, Varroc expand partnership with 27MWp solar project in India
This plant will eliminate 35,500 MT of carbon dioxide annually.
AMPIN Energy Transition has signed a new power purchase agreement (PPA) with Varroc Group for an additional 27 megawatt-peak (MWp) solar power project in Maharashtra.
This additional capacity brings Varroc’s total contracted solar capacity with AMPIN to over 60MWp, allowing the former to meet approximately 70% of its energy requirements with renewable energy. The project will also help in the group’s goal to reduce its carbon footprint by mitigating 35,500 metric tonnes of emissions per year.
“We are excited to extend our partnership with Varroc Group through this new PPA which is a repeat order is a testament to the trust and confidence they have place in AMPIN. This agreement underscores our commitment to supporting our clients in meeting their sustainability goals while providing cost-effective energy solutions,” said Pinaki Bhattacharyya, MD & CEO at AMPIN Energy Transition.
The project is aligned with Maharashtra’s goal to increase the adoption of renewable energy sources.
AMPIN is the only renewable energy developer in the state operating multiple solar open access projects and is actively investing in new capital to develop more renewable projects.
