Bosowa Energy, BK LNG ink deal to fuel Indonesia’s clean power shift
The parties launched a collaboration on LNG and energy infrastructure.
Bosowa Energy Group has entered into a partnership with BK LNG Solution Pte. Ltd. to fuel efforts in modernising Indonesia's energy infrastructure and accelerating the shift toward cleaner energy alternatives.
According to BK LNG, the partnership was marked by the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MOU) in Jakarta.
Under the MOU, the two parties will cooperate in multiple areas, including liquified natural gas (LNG) supply chain integration, development of floating storage units (FSUs), natural gas power generation, downstream energy applications, and small-scale LNG distribution via ISO tank containers.
A key component of the partnership involves converting existing diesel-fired power plants on remote islands into cleaner, gas-fired power plants using LNG. This initiative is expected to significantly reduce greenhouse gas emissions whilst improving energy stability in underserved regions.
The parties will also deploy modular LNG regasification units and develop localised micro-grid systems, helping isolated areas to transition to natural gas from diesel.
Pilot projects are scheduled to launch in Eastern Indonesia later this year, with plans to expand operations nationwide in the coming years.
