GREL on track for Vermagiri CCPP commissioning

 

GMR Rajahmundry Energy Limited is on track to meet the commissioning deadline for the 768 MW combined cycled power plant. A GMR Energy-subsidiary, GREL has already wrapped up around 68.8 per cent of the overall project in Vermagiri, with 80 per cent of equipment procured and one-third of the construction done.


 While the structural works for the switchyard and erection of the battery bank and charger have been completed, the erection of cable tray and unit auxiliary transformers is presently underway.


Foundation excavation for gas conditioning system has also commenced at the project site.


Besides, both the generator and gas turbine sets, have reached the site and other equipments like the Heat Recovery Steam Generator modules, switchyard, electrical equipments etc. have also started reaching the venue.
