Mega-solar power facility to rise in Shizuoka City

Shizuoka City will cooperate with Chubu Electric in the construction and operation of a mega-solar power facility in Shimizu Ward, Shizuoka City.

Shizuoka City Mayor Zenkichi Kojima and Chubu Electric Power Co., Inc. President: Akihisa Mizuno have concluded an agreement on the project.

This project will see Shizuoka City providing financial support for the operation of the mega-solar facility, in addition to conducting activities designed to inform residents making use of power from the facility.

In addition to constructing, operating, and maintaining the mega-solar facility, Chubu Electric Power will collaborate with Shizuoka City in such informative activities. The company will also work with Shizuoka Prefecture and all areas concerned in order to create opportunities for environmental education.
