Reliance Power unit secures 350 MW solar plus battery energy storage project

This was the largest allocation in SJVN’s tariff-based bidding.

Reliance Power Limited’s subsidiary has secured an allocation of 350 megawatts (MW) of solar capacity and 175 MW/700 megawatt-hour (MWh) of battery energy storage system (BESS).

In a statement, the company said its unit Reliance NU Energies Private Limited bagged this allocation following SJVN’s tariff-based competitive bidding process.

The platform will add 600 megawatt-peak of installed solar capacity and 700 MWh of energy storage to Reliance Power’s portfolio once commissioned.

Currently, the company’s clean energy pipeline stands at 2.5 gigawatt-peak solar and over 2.5 gigawatt-hours BESS.
