TNB gets US$79m financing for Kuala Langat solar project

It will be its first large-scale solar project in Malaysia.

Malaysian utility Tenaga Nasional Berhad has achieved financial close for its first large-scale solar project, the Kuala Langat solar farm.

TNB said that Affin Islamic Bank Bhd will be releasing RM339m (US$79m) financing for the 50MW solar PV project. Kuala Langot will be developed by Tenaga subsidiary TNB Sepang Solar Sdn Bhd.

The plant will kick off construction by early November 2018.
