Genesis Energy breaks ground on $236m solar farm in New Zealand
The first generation is expected in mid-2027.
Genesis Energy has begun construction of its $236m 136-megawatt peak solar farm at Edgecumbe in the Bay of Plenty.
Located on a 209-hectare site, the solar farm will generate up to 238 gigawatt-hours of electricity a year, enough to power about 30,000 households.
Horizon Networks, the lines company serving the area, will connect the farm to the national grid via a new transmission line to the Edgecumbe Substation.
The first generation is expected in mid-2027.
