Tohoku Electric partners with Toyota, State of Miyagi in solar power business

Tohoku Electric Power will establish a new solar power generation business in a joint venture with Toyota Motar Corp and the state of Miyagi.

Tokyo Motor will supply the power generated from the new business to two of its subsidiaries, Central Motor in Ohira and Toyota Motor Tohoku in Taiwan.

The company is planning to construct a large-scale solar power generation system at a industrial complex where the two subsidiaries are located.

The joint venture will use renewable energy sources to ensure stable operation at plants in the Tohoku region, where there is scarcity in electricity supply.
