Vietnam's hydropower plants link with national grid

Turbine Unit No. 2 of the Dong Nai Hydropower Plant 3 with a capacity of 90MW has officially linked up with Vietnam's national grid.

 

Dong Nai Hydropower Plant 3 situated upstream Dong Nai River, in the area covering Dac GLong district and Bao Lam, Di Linh, Lam Ha, invested by the Electricity of Vietnam with total capital of 5,675 billion VND, consists of two turbine units with a total designed capacity of 180MW and an average power output of 607 million KWh annually. The construction of the plant was started on December, 26th, 2004, and the turbine unit No. 1 began generating electricity on January 8th, 2011.

On the same day, the An Khe-Ka Nak Hydropower Project also successfully linked up with the national grid at 4:25 PM. The total installed capacity of the project is 173MW and the average power production is 701.5 million kWh annually.

Besides, the project also contributes to containing flood, creating water sources for Con River, and regulating water to the basin below An Khe Dam. The An Khe-Ka Nak Hydropower Project lies on the top terrace of the Song Ba terraced hydropower exploitation diagram, 100km east of Pleiku.
