Technip Energies India wins big at the Asian Oil & Gas Awards 2021

With the iconic history of delivering many largest and most complex engineering and construction (E&C) projects, Technip Energies aims for breaking boundaries to transform the energy world.

Technip Energies India has won the Health and Safety Initiative of the Year – India and Operations and Maintenance Initiative of the Year - India awards at the Asian Oil & Gas Awards 2021.

Asian Oil & Gas Awards 2021 aim to recognise companies in the oil and gas industry in the Asia Pacific region that have risen above various challenges and remained steadfast despite a very challenging environment of Covid pandemic. Winning these awards further enhances the credibility and trust the Technip Energies brand carries in the local EPC industry and pushes them to set new benchmarks in operational excellence and Safety standards. Technip Energies India team carried out in-situ repair of a 1/4 cr - 1 Mo reactor at approximately 9-meter depth inside, installed on foundation with structure and piping erected, resulting in complexities at different levels of execution.

During execution the team has also encountered several technical challenges such as the need for WPS-PQR Qualification to achieve the required mechanical properties, welder training & qualification to weld in 2G position with required welding parameter to perform the grinding in hanging condition, and the use of a low alloy steel (Gr.11) weld without PWHT. All these activities were carried out during the second wave of COVID-19 which hit the country severely and prompted various restrictions for travel and logistics, imposing  additional challenges.

In order to assess the risks associated with reactor repairs, pre-task plans and mockups were initiated at Technip Energies modular manufacturing yard at Dahej, to ensure the job was successfully completed in real-time.

Technip Energies is committed to ensuring the quality, health, safety, security and environmental protection and wellbeing of their people, and the people they work with. Commenting on receiving the award, Davendra Kumar, Managing Director of Technip Energies India said, ”It is a proud moment for us. The award recognises our commitment to ensure safety of our teams whilst safeguarding our projects with our decades long know-how in EPC*. Leveraging on our integrated expertise in project delivery, technologies, products and services, we are continuously innovating our work processes to deliver highest standards of client satisfaction in adherence to our strong values: quality, integrity, respect for well-being and environment.”
