Mahagenco to revive worst performing thermal units

Mahagenco wants to convert loss-incurring thermal power stations/units into profit-making ones.

Thus it has invited Expressions of Interest from private companies interested in entering into long term contracts as franchisees with the generating company on profit sharing basis through conversion of the said units.

The contracts would have to be entered within the framework of regulations of the Maharashtra Electricity Regulatory Commission  and Maharashtra Pollution Control Board, BEEPAT, Mahagenco's fuel supply agreements with domestic coal companies and power purchase agreements with Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited, Mahagenco said.
