Indonesia pledges US$320 million for geothermal exploration

Fund to be used by local governments for exploration.

The Indonesian government said that if exploration shows good results, local governments can open bidding and investors who win the development contracts can repay the exploration funds.

Indonesia’s geothermal power capacity stands at 1,341MW. It is equivalent to 5% of country's total potential energy estimated at 29,038MW.
