EGAT to develop application for solar power exchange

It partnered with KBank and KBTG for the project.

The Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT) collaborated with Kasikornbank (Kbank) and Kasikorn Business-Technology Group for the development of the first platform for the exchange of electric power, the Punfai application.

In a statement, EGAT said the application will enable the management of power generated from solar panels and allow users to share their surplus electricity “for a good return in order to reduce electricity cost.”

It added that this will lead to a shorter payback period and the maximum use of generated electricity.

The development of Punfai progress of the EGAT Peer-to-Peer Energy Trading application by participating in KBank’s Solar Plus Project.

EGAT said the project, which is expected to start the trial in the third quarter.
