Tata Power unit to develop 28 MW captive solar plant

This is in partnership with Sanyo Special Steel Manufacturing India.

TP Alpha Limited, a subsidiary of Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited (TPREL), entered a Power Delivery Agreement with Sanyo Special Steel Manufacturing India (SSMI) to set up a 28.125 MWAC Captive Solar Power Plant.

In a statement, Tata Power said the power plant located in Aachegaon, Dist- Solapur in Maharashtra can produce around 61.875 million units of electricity for SSMI annually.

The project is expected to start operations by March 2024.

Tata Power added that the solar energy from the project will help cut SSMI’s carbon footprint by around 42,534 tonnes annually.

The project brings TPREL’s renewables capacity to 7,815 MW.
