DP Energy Australia advances with new wind farm project

Euston Wind Farm will supply electricity to over 300,000 households in New South Wales.

DP Energy Australia has progressed in its 700-megawatt (MW) Euston Wind Farm project with the preparation of its environmental impact statement as a critical step towards development approval (DA).

Located eight kilometres north of Euston, New South Wales, the wind farm project is projected to supply electricity to 324,903 households in the state with the installation of an estimated 100 wind turbines and a Battery Energy Storage System (BESS).

Euston Wind Farm serves as one of the initiatives of New South Wales towards its climate action targets of net zero emissions by 2050. In turn, its development will support the expansion of local jobs and community programs.

“The receipt of the SEARs marks a key milestone in the Euston Wind Farm project, we are excited to be moving forward with this quality project which aligns well with the New South Wales Government’s goals to transform the electricity system into one that is affordable, clean, and reliable,” Hugh Cantwell, head of projects of DP Energy Australia, said.

Since its establishment, DP Energy has operated over 1GW of renewable energy projects across Australia, Canada, Ireland, and the UK, with a pipeline of over 9GW.

Other major DP Energy projects in Australia comprise the 320 MW Port Augusta Renewable Energy Park in South Australia and the 430 MW Callide Wind Farm in Queensland.
