NTPC appoints Shri Ravindra Kumar as Director of Operations

Kumar has over 34 years of experience in O&M, engineering and management.

NTPC Limited has named Shri Ravindra Kumar to take charge as Director of Operations, effective 26 February 2024.

Kumar has over 34 years of diverse and versatile experience in commissioning, operations and maintenance (O&M), engineering, and project management.

Kumar joined NTPC Limited as Graduate Engineer Trainee officer in 1989. After which, he worked in O&M functions at NTPC Kahalgaon Project and in engineering as technical support to the Director (Technical).

Kumar became a prominent figure in the development of the 1st Maitree supercritical power project of Bangladesh India Friendship Power Company Limited (BIFPCL), Bangladesh. And as Chief Technical Officer (CTO), he supervised all engineering, erection, commissioning, and O&M activities of 660 MW 1st Unit of BIFPCL.

Before he was appointed as Director (Operations), Kumar served officer on special duty (OSD).

Kumar holds a degree in Sc. (Engineering) in mechanical engineering from BIT Sindri in 1988.
