MENA solar power capacity to grow by 99.1 GW by 2033

It share in the global solar capacity will rise to 3%.

The Middle East and North Africa (MENA) is projected to increase its solar capacity by 99.1 gigawatts from 2022 to 2033, reflecting an annual average of 21% year-on-year growth, according to BMI.

As such, the region's share of solar capacity globally will increase to 3% by 2033 from less than 1% in 2022.

At the forefront of its growth are the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Oman and Morocco, thanks to their large-scale solar power projects, diversification of energy sources and state support.
