EMA, NTU, and Enterprise SG develop playbook on Scope 2 emissions reduction

The first two sections of the playbook are available for digital viewing.

The Energy Market Authority, the Energy Research Institute @ Nanyang Technological University, and Enterprise Singapore will develop a playbook to help companies reduce Scope 2 emissions.

“Powering a Sustainable Future: A Playbook on Scope 2 Emissions Reduction for Singapore Businesses” aims to provide businesses with sustainability strategies to enhance energy efficiency and lower electricity-related carbon emissions.

It will have three sections: an overview of Singapore’s efforts to decarbonise, the role of the private sector in reducing carbon emissions, and actionable strategies that companies can adopt in the near-, mid-, and long-term to reduce Scope 2 emissions.

The playbook will also guide small and medium enterprises on the regulatory requirements for sustainability reporting, such as mandatory climate reporting for listed enterprises from 2025.

The first two sections have been released for digital viewing, whilst the entire playbook will released in the first quarter of 2025.
