Shell Pilipinas Corporation wins Digital Transformation Initiative of the Year - Philippines category Asian Oil & Gas Awards 2024

The petroleum company’s Shell Fleet App was recognised for revolutionising how it reaches and serves small and medium enterprises (SMEs).

Shell Pilipinas Corporation emerged triumphant at the Asian Oil & Gas Awards 2024, taking home the Digital Transformation Initiative of the Year - Philippines accolade.

The company’s initiative was centred on SMEs, as they represent a significant portion of the business landscape, accounting for 99.5% of all registered businesses. With Shell Fleet Solutions Philippines' focus to grow the SME customer portfolio, the company acknowledged the need to adapt to the digital transformation and evolving behaviours of SME fleet management.

Tailored approach

Shell Fleet Solutions embarked on developing a tailored app designed to simplify and enhance the fleet management experience for SME owners.

Traditionally, applying for a Shell Fleet Card involved a tedious process of filling out forms, submitting documents, and waiting for application results—a process that was proven to be time-consuming and inconvenient for busy SME owners. 

Shell Fleet Solutions identified a substantial opportunity within this segment and responded with a streamlined solution that addresses their specific needs and demands. The goal was to reduce the time SME owners spend on paperwork and administrative tasks, allowing them to focus more on growing their businesses.

Shell Fleet Solutions launched the Shell Fleet App in 2022 to address this. This user-friendly application, available on both iOS and Android platforms, revolutionises the fleet card application process. The app enables potential customers to create a Shell Fleet Card account in just five minutes, without the need for manual form submissions. By providing a seamless transition from a cash-based to a cashless fuel management system, the app offers the security, convenience and efficiency that modern SME owners value. Amongst its key features are real-time card management, monthly billing through electronic invoices, and automatic credit card payments processed within the app.
