WFO launches power purchase agreement committee

This will promote knowledge sharing amongst others.

The World Forum Offshore Wind (WFO) is set to form a new panel that will be focused on supporting power purchase agreements (PPA).

In a statement, the WFO said the committee’s goal is to “unlock greater value for the industry through a simplified, more consistent, and standardised process for PPAs.”

The committee will promote global knowledge sharing on PPAs for offshore wind, simplify negotiations between operators and offtakers, and address current regulatory frameworks and foster greater standardisation of contracts.

The new Committee will be chaired by Giorgia Carchitto, bp’s SVP Low Carbon Commercial Assets and Portfolio Analysis.

This will be WFO’s fourth committee following those focused on Floating Offshore Wind, Offshore Dispute Resolution, and Offshore Wind to Hydrogen in the past five years.
