WFO announces new partnership to fuel offshore wind development
This collaboration will focus on Japan.
The World Forum Offshore Wind (WFO) has announced that the Floating Offshore Wind Technology Research Association (FLOWRA) of Japan has joined the platform amidst efforts to boost offshore wind projects.
In a statement, WFO said FLOWRA is working on research and development of common basic technologies and the reduction of costs and risks of floating offshore wind.
The two organisations will be working on accelerating the development of floating offshore wind projects in Japan, an area with immense potential for offshore wind energy production, benefiting both the environment and the economy.
WFO Managing Director Gunnar Herzig said the partnership “strengthens the efforts of our Floating Offshore Wind Committee. Our collaborative efforts will foster knowledge sharing and promote best practices.”
