Repower Energy’s net income up 31.8% in Q1
Thanks to higher electricity sales.
Repower Energy Development Corporation (REDC) has reported a 31.8% increase in its net income, reaching PHP 92.5m in the first quarter (Q1) of 2025.
The company said in a disclosure that the growth was driven by a 6.1% rise in electricity sales, along with a 52.66% decrease in its operating expenses, thanks to operational streamlining and a reduced need for plant repairs following minimal natural disruptions.
REDC is set to commence operations at its PHP 4b, 15 megawatt (MW) Pulanai Hydropower Plant in Bukidnon, with the launch planned for the third quarter of 2025. This plant is forecasted to double the existing generating capacity once it comes online.
The company currently operates eight hydropower plants across the Luzon region, with a combined capacity of 17.354 MW, and has several additional projects in the pipeline at various stages of development.
