Aster forms new arm focusing on power and steam generation
An agreement was signed for the deployment of 16MWp of solar capacity.
Aster has announced the formation of an energy arm business focused on advancing power and steam generation, and renewable power solutions across its assets.
In a statement, Aster said Aster Power Pte Ltd (APPL) has also secured an agreement with Sembcorp Solar Singapore to deploy approximately 16 megawatt-peak of solar capacity across Aster’s integrated infrastructure on Bukom and Jurong Island by the end of 2026.
Once operational, the projects will generate enough renewable energy to reduce around 169,000 tonnes of carbon emissions over system lifetime – equivalent to taking around 16,580 cars off the road for one year.
APPL is also looking to upscale its deployment of solar energy systems – including a nearshore solar photovoltaic system – and explore new energy infrastructure such as electric ferry charging stations and tailored green power supply solutions to further Singapore’s industrial sustainability and transition towards a low-carbon future.
