Simply Blue Energy is involved in multiple projects in Europe.

Kansai Electric Power Co., Inc. (KEPCO) marked its expansion in offshore wind energy with its investment in Simply Blue Energy OSW Ltd. (SBE), an offshore wind development company based in Ireland.

In a statement, Kansai Electric said it has signed a share subscription agreement for the investment.

“This investment will support SBE in accelerating the expansion of its offshore wind portfolio in Europe and beyond, whilst also enabling KEPCO to further accumulate knowledge and experience in offshore wind development,” KEPCO said.

Under its 2050 goal. KEPCO aims to develop 5 gigawatts (GW) of new renewable energy capacity in Japan by 2040, for a total capacity of 9 GW.
