Snowy Hydro bags wind and energy storage deals in Australia
The wind and power storage projects will commence operations in 2029 and 2027, respectively.
Snowy Hydro has inked energy contracts with Aula Energy and TagEnergy for additional capacity of wind generation and grid-scale battery storage.
According to Snowy Hydro, the long-term power purchase agreement (PPA) with Aula Energy covers the procurement of 120 megawatts (MW) of energy from the Carmody’s Hill Wind Farm in South Australia.
The wind project is expected to commence supply in early 2029, will support our retail load growth in South Australia.
A 15-year, 105 MW, four-hour virtual toll agreement was also inked with TagEnergy for the 150 MW Golden Plains BESS in Victoria.
This project is expected to commence operations in late 2027.
Snowy Hydro said these deals bring its contracted wind, solar and battery storage capacity close to 2,200 MW and foster the development of over 3,600 MW of renewables and firming projects in Australia.
