SunHydrogen expands into Japan with new GK subsidiary
It will support hydrogen research and development in Japan.
SunHydrogen, Inc. has established a new subsidiary, SunHydrogen Japan GK, to strengthen its research and commercial activities in Japan’s hydrogen sector.
SunHydrogen said the move provides a permanent base in Japan to support research partnerships and access local government-funded programs.
The subsidiary will be led by Dr. Taro Yamada and formalises an ongoing collaboration that has supported the company’s technical progress.
The company confirmed that core operations will remain in Coralville, Iowa, where it continues development of its solar hydrogen panel technology and outdoor pilot testing at its Austin ProtoHub site. Manufacturing collaboration with CTF Solar GmbH is also ongoing.
The new subsidiary also supports expanding partnerships in Japan, including ongoing collaboration with Honda Research and Development, as SunHydrogen seeks to advance commercial development of renewable hydrogen technologies.
