J&V Energy to acquire 187MW Taiwan solar portfolio from BlackRock-managed fund

It is expected to generate around 270 million kWh of electricity annually.

J&V Energy Technology Co., Ltd. has signed an agreement to acquire a 187MW portfolio of operational solar assets in Taiwan from a fund managed by Global Infrastructure Partners, a part of BlackRock.

The portfolio includes 42 solar plants across Central and Southern Taiwan with a total capacity of 187MW.

It is expected to generate around 270 million kWh of electricity annually, enough to power approximately 80,000 households, with more than 15 years of remaining operating life.

One of the key installations in the portfolio is the 49MW Maxinsolar Chiayi solar farm, amongst the largest ground-mounted solar projects in Taiwan, built across private land in a subsidence-affected zone.

The transaction price was not disclosed and is expected to close in Q3 2026, pending regulatory approvals and customary closing conditions.

J&V Energy said the acquisition will strengthen its integrated renewable energy platform and accelerate its expansion as a leading independent power producer in Taiwan. The newly added capacity is also expected to enhance supply availability for its green electricity retail business, GREENET, which provides long-term renewable power solutions to corporate clients.

Following completion, the acquired assets will be integrated into J&V Energy’s existing operations, asset management, and electricity retail infrastructure in Taiwan.

Completion remains targeted for Q3 2026, pending regulatory approvals and standard closing conditions.
