Taiwan completes offshore wind development guidelines

Three companies have been working on the guide since 2014.

ITPEnergised (ITPE), Ramboll and BMT Asia Pacific (BMT) have finally bared their third, and final, set of best practice guidelines for the development of offshore wind farms in Taiwan.

The three firms have been working on the set of guides since 2014. This project has been delivering recommendations that were based on best practice approcahes and case studies from European counterparts whilts taking into consideration Taiwan's policies and environmental conditions.

The project consultants met with local Taiwanese developers and sectoral players back in July 2016 to dicuss the planning and preparation stage for offshore wind projects.

Taiwan is actively promoting the use of wind energy, focusing on offshore development, in a bid to achieve its 14GW renewable generation capacity target by 2030.
