Adani Power secures 1,600 MW supply deal with Maharashtra
It offered lowest tariff at ₹5.30/kWh.
Adani Power Ltd (APL) has received a Letter of Award from Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Ltd (MSEDCL) to supply 1,600 MW from an upcoming ultra-supercritical thermal power project.
Adani Power offered the lowest tariff of ₹5.30 per kWh in a competitive bidding process. The 25-year Power Supply Agreement (PSA) is expected to begin from the financial year 2030-31.
The company has now tied up contracts for 13.3 GW out of its 23.8 GW under-implementation pipeline. More than 95% of its current operating capacity of 18.15 GW is secured under medium-to-long-term PSAs, whilst over 55% of upcoming capacity is tied to 25-year agreements, ensuring revenue stability and volume visibility.
Adani Power has also won five long-term PSA bids during FY25-26 alone, totaling 10,400 MW. These developments underline the company’s role in supporting India’s target of adding 100 GW of thermal power capacity by 2032.
The MSEDCL project includes a pre-determined coal linkage, ensuring long-term fuel security and reliable, cost-effective power supply.
Adani Power said it plans to expand its capacity from 18.15 GW to 41.87 GW by FY31-32, with an investment of approximately ₹2 lakh crore.
The projects are expected to boost employment across multiple sectors and meet rising electricity demand fueled by economic growth, urbanisation, industrial expansion, and household electrification.
