Gentari, AM Green Ammonia ink PPA for 650 MW of clean power
Green energy facilities will be set up to support this.
Gentari, through its subsidiary Gentari Renewables India Castor One Private Limited, and AM Green Ammonia India Private Limited have entered into a power purchase agreement for 650 megawatts (MW) of round-the-clock green energy to power the latter’s upcoming green ammonia facilities.
Under the deal, Gentari will set up 2,400 megawatt-peak of renewable energy capacity, and integrate it with 350 MW / 2,100 megawatt-hour energy storage. It plans to execute the project in the state of Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka.
"The solar project will be constructed at a single location and the wind projects will be spread across multiple locations connected through the ISTS network,” said Navjit Gill, country head for India, Gentari.
The agreement is in line with the specifications defined under the Renewable Fuels of Non-Biological Origin framework, which will allow AMG Ammonia to target customers in Europe in addition to all other geographies.
Gentari said it is also developing supply chains to connect these molecules with global demand centers, and expanding downstream solutions for efficient delivery to international markets.
AMG Ammonia is building one of the world’s largest green ammonia platforms, aiming for a 5 million tonnes per annum (MTPA) capacity by 2030. This will yield roughly 1 MTPA of green hydrogen, contributing to India's National Green Hydrogen Mission and Europe's green hydrogen import goals.
