The power supply will begin on 1 February 2025.
JERA Co., Ltd. and East Japan Railway Company have signed an agreement to implement an offsite corporate power purchasing agreement, which will supply environmental value from offsite power generation to electricity consumers.
Starting 1 February 2025, JERA will supply solar power through JERA Cross Inc. as the aggregator, whilst East Japan Railway Trading Co., Ltd. will retail the electricity to Atre Oimachi and Lumine Yokohama.
East Japan Railway Trading will also supply electricity generated from food waste, marking the first time JR East will combine multiple renewable energy sources for its station buildings.
