Meralco PowerGen names new Cebu Site head for thermal operations.

The leadership change became officially effective on the first of January.

Meralco PowerGen Corporation (MGEN) has named Erick Cabarrubias as its Cebu Site Head effective 1 January 2026.

“In this role, Engr. Cabarrubias will oversee MGEN’s thermal operations in Cebu, covering both Cebu Energy Development Corporation and Toledo Power Co., as it continues to strengthen operational excellence and reliability across its generation facilities,” the company said in a statement.

Prior to his appointment, Cabarrubias was deputy site head for Cebu thermal operations, where he played a key role in driving operational performance and ensuring continuity across the sites.

He succeeds Leah Diaz, who will continue as MGEN Thermal Cebu’s Project Stakeholders Management consultant.
