MGEN expands MTerra Solar capacity amidst Middle East conflict

The company is investing an additional 3,500 MWp.

Meralco PowerGen Corporation (MGEN) is boosting its operational capacity in response to uncertainty about power supplies due to the conflict in the Middle East.

In line with this, the company is investing an additional 3,500 megawatts peak combined with a 4,500 megawatt per hour battery energy storage system in its MTerra Solar project.

Emmanuel V. Rubio, President and CEO of MGEN, said the group is also advancing energy efficiency initiatives that promote the responsible use of energy and help manage demand.
