Sembcorp and PLN NP unveil utility-scale solar plus storage project in Indonesia
It features a 50-MW solar farm.
Subsidiaries of Sembcorp Industries and PT PLN Nusantara Power have launched the Nusantara Sembcorp Solar Energi Power Plant, the first utility-scale integrated solar and energy storage project in Nusantara, Indonesia.
In a statement, PT Sembcorp Renewables Indonesia and PT PLN Nusantara Renewables unveiled the facility. The plant built on approximately 87 hectares of land comprises a 50 megawatt solar farm with a 14.2 megawatt-hour battery energy storage system.
Sembcorp said this is its first venture into large-scale solar development in Indonesia.
“Leveraging our experience, we will deploy advanced energy storage to pair with the latest solar technology in this landmark utility-scale project,” said Jen Tan, head of renewables (Singapore and Indonesia), Sembcorp Industries.
