Sembcorp confirms ongoing talks on potential Alinta Energy purchase

Discussions between relevant parties regarding the acquisition are currently in progress.

Sembcorp clarified that talks are ongoing regarding a possible acquisition of Alinta Energy, an Australian energy and gas company.

In a filing at the Singapore Exchange, Sembcorp said that “it is currently considering potential acquisition opportunities which include Alinta Energy and are in current discussions with the relevant parties.”

The clarification comes after Australian media reports published on 7 December 2025.

Sembcorp said that it has not entered into a definitive transaction with any party and there is no certainty that any transaction will take place.
