Tata Power hits $535m record profit on strong green push
Revenue for the period stood at $6.65b.
Tata Power Company Limited (Tata Power) recorded an all-time high reported profit after tax (PAT) of $535m (₹5,118 crore) for the financial year ended 31 March 2026, a 7% year-on-year increase.
According to a bourse filing, it was due to strong performances across its renewables, solar manufacturing, and transmission and distribution (T&D) businesses offsetting headwinds from its Mundra thermal plant.
Revenue for the period stood at $6.65b (₹63,681 crore), with earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortisation rising 11% YoY to $1.68b (₹16,090 crore).
Tata Power's renewables arm, Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited (TPREL), commissioned 2.5 gigawatts of new capacity in FY26, comprising 968 megawatts of in-house projects and 1,484 MW of third-party projects.
The company's total renewable portfolio now stands at 11.6 GW, including 5.1 GW under construction. TPREL also crossed 10 GW of cumulative solar engineering, procurement, and construction execution during the year.
Solar manufacturing delivered the year's sharpest growth as TP Solar, the company's cell and module manufacturing business, reported a revenue of $728m (₹6,968 crore) and PAT of $90m (₹857 crore).
The unit produced 3,825 MW of modules and 3,759 MW of cells, with industry-leading production yields exceeding 95%.
