Thailand’s 286 MW wind portfolio advances with AFRY engineering oversight
The projects will feature modern wind turbines supplied by Goldwind.
AFRY has been appointed owner’s engineer for four onshore wind farm projects in Thailand developed by Gulf Development Public Company Limited, with a total capacity of 286 MW.
The assignment covers project management support, design review, and construction and commissioning oversight.
The projects include AL1 (48 MW) in Chumphon, AL2 (70 MW) in Prachuap Khiri Khan, ECE (90 MW) in Mukdahan, and WAYU (78 MW) in Chaiyaphum.
The projects will feature modern wind turbines supplied by Goldwind, installed on hybrid concrete towers. The tower segments are being manufactured locally in Thailand, supporting domestic industrial participation in renewable infrastructure development.
Once operational, they will supply power to the national grid under long-term PPAs with the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand.
