Steve Symons has two decades of experience in the renewable energy sector.
OX2 has appointed Steve Symons as its new vice president for OX2 Australia.
In a statement, the company said Symons’s appointment was effective 13 May.
He has around 20 years of experience in the renewable energy sector, with the most recent at Tilt Renewables, where he served as CFO for eight years, as well as interim CEO.
“OX2 has expanded its geographical presence to both the east and west coast and is active in onshore wind as well as solar and energy storage. Steve’s experience and knowledge in the market will be valuable,” said OX2 CEO Paul Stormoen.
In 2023, OX2 acquired renewable energy developer ESCO Pacific in Australia. Since then, the company has sold its first solar farm and project rights for two solar projects.
The company has also acquired its first onshore wind power project in Australia. The project, which is in an early stage, has a planned installed capacity of 1 GW.
OX2 has a total development portfolio in Australia of 2,418 megawatts spread across solar, onshore wind and energy storage.
