GEPCO’s Gujranwala, Narowal plants to begin operations

Gujranwala Electric Power Company’s recently constructed thermal power plants in Pakistan are to begin operations from this month.

GEPCO built a 425MW power station at Nandipur-Gujranwala and a 225MW power plant in Narowal, according to Daily Times.

An additional 135MW will be contributed by two other plants under construction at Sialkot.

GEPCO chief executive for the Gujranwala region Muhammad Ibrahim Majoka said that power generated by GEPCO will help reduce the period of power cuts and will ensure an uninterrupted supply of electricity to local industries in Sialkot, Gujranwala and Gujrat.
