Samsung to build Malaysian gas turbine power plant

A RM2.47 billion EPC contract.

This has been awarded by Tenaga Nasional Bhd to Samsung to develop a 1,000 to 1,400MW combined cycle gas turbine power plant in Prai, Penang.

Samsung will be responsible for the plant design and engineering, supply of power island equipment with its related auxiliaries and ancillaries and construction of all plant infrastructure under the development.

The RM2.47 billion project cost includes the EPC works of RM1.88 billion and development costs.

Expected to take 32 months to complete, the project will potentially increase the net assets of the group by about 0.56%.
