SJVN signs with JKPCL for 300 MW solar power

SGEL will provide generated power from the 1,000 MW Bikaner Solar Power Project.

SJVN, through wholly owned subsidiary SJVN Green Energy Limited (SGEL), has inked a power usage agreement (PUA) with Jammu & Kashmir Power Corporation Limited (JKPCL) for a 300 MW solar power capacity.

Through the agreement, SGEL will supply generated power to JKPCL from the under-construction 1,000 MW Bikaner Solar Power Project.

Located in the state of Rajasthan under CPSU Scheme of IREDA, the project is being developed under the Domestic Content Requirement (DCR) mode with an accumulated cost of $662.23m (Rs 5,491 crores). It is slated for commissioning by July 2024.

Power generated from Bikaner SPP will be utilised by government agencies, either directly or through distribution companies.

SJVN aims to achieve its shared vision of 25,000 MW by 2030 and 50,000 MW by 2040.
