Taipower appoints Yang Wei-fu as new chairman

He will take over by Monday next week.

Vice Minister of Economic Affairs and CPC Corp, Taiwan acting chairman Yang Wei-fu has been appointed Taiwan Power Company's new chairman.

Yang will be taking over the utility after Dr Chu Wen-chen who announced his retirement last October 9.

Yang said in an interview with Taipei Times that the proposal still needs to be passed by Taipower's board. "I am scheduled to take the post on Monday next week at the earliest," he said. He also added that he will be letting go of his position at the ministry after the apointment.
