Chinese investors eye energy projects in Indonesia

Up to 300 Chinese investors have expressed a strong interest in infrastructure and environmentally friendly energy projects in Indonesia.

 


According to a press statement made available on the website of the Indonesian Embassy in Beijing, China, Indonesia was seen as an attractive investment destination for Chinese companies aiming to expand their business networks on an international level.

Public Works deputy minister Hemanto Dardak said investment by Chinese companies would assist Indonesia's efforts to boost itseconomic growth through improved infrastructure and access to energy.

“With their experience, technology and financial strength, investment from Chinese companies will play a pivotal tole in achieving the Indonesian government’s target to accelerate and expand infrastructure development,” Hemanto
